All children aged 6 months and older received a $5 prescription for fresh fruits and vegetables at every well visit. After seeing their pediatrician, kids could shop downstairs at the Flint Farmers’ Market for fresh produce. The value of prescriptions increased to $10 in May 2016 and then to the current $15 value in January 2018. Additional funding also allowed pediatricians to distribute prescriptions to children from birth to 18 years old at all clinic visits in November 2016.
